First of all wanted to say hello, newbie here. Just bought a m1009 with dana 60/14 and hydro assist steering mostly for a wheeling vehicle. My question is the prior owner welded the top of the tailgate and took out the rear window. I found this item on craigslist stating it is a fiberglass hatch styly window for a blazer. i did a google and ebay and search on here but cant find any info on it. The guy says the frame rivets into the rear window frame and then the window is basically like a camper shell with the handle that twists and two rods secure into the frame. Has anybody seen or heard of these before? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the rear glass assembly from a First Gen. 69-72 K5 only...

You'll need one from a 73-91.

I don't know what Rene is referring to, but that looks like a camper shell window to me. I'd see if it actually lines up to your truck for real before buying it. Personally, I'd find a used tailgate and swap it in. They can be found on craigslist every week for $50 - $150.

I thought it was a camper shell frame as well, but the guy says its from his k5. He has the shell it went with for sale as well. I plan on meeting him on sunday and am gonna drive the blazer to make sure. I have never heard of these before. Thanks for all the quick replies, I will update when i meet up with the guy.

Yeah, subscribed out of pure curiousity.

Yep Jessie nailed it....

Yah it's pretty much what I do for a living and that's a canopy (topper) rear window assembly. If it's GM glass the monogram (or window bug) on the glass will usually say PPG or LOF for that vintage of a truck.....

Well i met the guy on Sunday, and it was a camper shell window/frame. He failed to mention that he trimmed his shell to make it fit. It was pretty close to the shape, maybe needed an inch or so trimmed from the top, but it was an aluminum framed camper window.

Ugh. Hit up Craigslist and get a new tailgate and shell. They won't be more than $300 total for both, put them on and you will be good to go!
