I recently purchased an 82 diesel suburban. Been looking a while. It has manual windows except for the rear. The rear is a power window. How hard is it to convert the rear window to a manual window?

I finally started a new project Suburban, and I'm doing the same thing. Best I can tell it just requires getting a manual suburban regulator (has a sort of "T" drive) and the crank assembly that replaces the key/bezel. It may or may not be the same as the K5, but the window and rear gate do not interchange, so the safe bet for a regulator is from a suburban donor. I found a regulator, but still looking for the crank assembly.

I have the outside crank assembly somewhere if I find it I will let you know.
Just to warn you it might be a while

Thanks. And no worries on time. I'm not as young as I used to be (plus new 2 knees) so this project is moving at a glacial pace compared to my past projects.

I am only 52, it's not the age, it's the mess.:(

Couldn’t agree more, just turned 46, but I’ve had a few surgeries to go with that. Going to start the suburban process soon so I’ll keep an eye out for a manual crank and see if they’re the same.

I just converted a 90 Suburban power tailgate that was a basket case of parts.

I can say the crank assembly is the same between K5 and Suburban, I would buy one fully assembled if your buying a reproduction one. I first bought all the parts and the lock cylinder would not stay in when removing the key wasted a day on that. Evidently a common problem.

The manual regulator is different the suburban one the "T" part is about an inch longer. I originally ordered one thru Brothers trucks not knowing, their description said it fit both. I informed them they should fix their description. Got the correct Suburban one thru LMC , worked fine.
