i bought the roller and rivets from LMC but it is only a 1 piece rivet how the hell am i supposed to get the wheel attached with a one piece????

i am going to have to order a new set because i need it fixed so i put it together and used a punch hoping it would stretch it out so it wont come out of the hole. It worked, Kind Of, it is a good temp fix but it wont last long because it didnt stretch out like i planed. I split but it didnt come apart so i reinstalled it and it works out for now.

Anyway, did anyone use these roller rivets and did i get jipped or how the hell did you get them to work?

I bought mine from GM and what I did was use a punch and a 25 ton press at work to mushroom the end of the rivet . That was 8 years ago and still works .

Are you talking about the little ball socket that the nylon wheels are snapped on to that slide inside of the two channels under the glass?

If so, all i did was drill the ball socket rivit out and replaced with the ball socket deals that come on the side of some carbs- the linkage, holley is one. You can get a universal kit from the parts store for about $6.00. Stop by a auto window place to see about getting new nylon roller wheels. They've always just given them to me. Oh, I used nylock nuts on the new ball sockets so they couldn't loosen up. I have had a variety of rear window roll up issues but the ball socket trick works great. I worked with a mirror and it is recommended that you apply a tad of grease to the holes of the new rollers and also slide them in the channel and then use a channel locks pliers to squeeze the ball socket into the roller while it's inside the channel. Hope this helps.

the whole thing only coast m 6 bucks to fix but i dont have a press so i used a punch and BFH to try to mushroom the ends. Mushrooming didnt happen though cracking and splitting happened. think i am going to order the rivets again and just tack them into the track.
