Hello folks. Newbie here. Nice to find a place for other fans of Blazers.

Does anyone have anyadvice for changing the rear widow seal? I started breaking into this project the other day and realized it's not gonna be a 5 minute fix. I assume that the rear window will have to be in the up position or out of the tailgate entirely.

Has to be out completely.
You have to unbolt the bottom and remove the upper seals to get the window out.
Then you install the side seals, put the window back in and then put the top seal back in.

Thanks imiceman44.

I may need to think about replacing the glass since it's coming out anyway.

I'm actually doing the same thing, and is there any other place to get the outer seal from other than LMC truck? $30 is pretty steep for a piece of rubber with clips on it.

$30.00 is a little steep. But I figure the less H2O in the tailgate the better. I ordered mine from LMC and once I get it in there, it'll be worth it.

You can get one from JCWhiteny that's actually $40. I figured they'd be cheaper.

Bought all my rear window seals from the dealer and they were cheaper than i could get aftermarket anywhere. This was about 5 years ago though. The rear window does not have to come out if you're only changing the inner and outer seal at the top of the tailgate. The window just needs to be in the down position.

Thanks 4x4HIGH, How did you get the metal clips on the back of the seal to line up and pop into place?

they just pop in kinda like the door panels do. at least mine did. also if you go to the dealer and they tell you that the year is disc. try a newer year up to 91 there all the same.
