Ok, I asked around for locations to buy a new switch. If you have an 80 and older blazer, you can get them at ClassicParts.com. But you can't get the bezel for it lol, they only have them for 81 and newer :doah: If you have an 81 or newer like me, ur out of luck on a switch. :dunno:

Anyway, I found a nice switch that fits perfectly in my bezel. :D I didn't have to do anything. It fits PERFECT. Cut the factory connector off, replace with spade connectors, and ur done. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet, still working on blazer. I got it from a store locally, they have a website www.Orvac.com. You might be able to order it from there or look up the part number somewhere else.
PS> if you think it won't work, let me know.

I bought both a new bezel and switch from the dealer for my 89 blazer.

see, I called up 3 dealerships in the area and nothin
nothin on the switches and nothin on the tailgate cable springs
and yes Orvacs rock:waytogo:

just to bump this, cause a question was asked

and to update: works perfect, been using it for some time now. Now if my damn tailgate key switch would stop being intermittent dammit

I guess this is my first time posting here, but I'm very active on GMSB. I'm on the verge of ordering that same switch to accomplish the same thing, and I was wondering if you knew off the top of your head the pinout and wiring for the new switch.

Nope, just transfer the same pattern from the old one. You will need to cut the old end off and add spade connectors. (Not sure if I wrote that originally)

Since getting rid of my hardtop years ago, I’m actually using the same switch for my winch. Works perfect and didn’t need to do anything.
