Rear Window

The window in my tail gate got broken and I need to replace, I found one but the price was $600! I found a whole parts truck for that price, is that a normal price for the window? Anybody know where to get one? Thanks for the help.

Thats ridiculously overpriced. Go on craigslist and look for it, look for "parting out k5" give the guy an email about a rear window and I bet you could get one for 100$ tops.

What years should I look for if I want to replace the whole tail gate? Mine is a 89' Is it hard to change just the glass?

I bought one new from a good friend of mine that works a Binswanger glass for cost ( $48.00 ). I think list was like $169.00. They are not any were near $600.00

Watch craigslist, parts for K5's are super easy to find and cheap because there are so many of them.

I gave my rear glass to a CK5 member that needed it, I'm sure you can find one for $100 or less.

I just bought a 87 for parts, got it for $500, new tires, rebuilt transfer case and rear end, the body is rusted bad and the newly rebuilt engine has a knock but the glass I need is good. Any tricks to changing the rear glass?

It's pretty easy to change the glass. Unbolting it from the regulator is the easy part, but actually fitting the glass through the slot can be a bear if you don't remove one of the window reveal felts first.

I found mine on ebay for $70 shipped. Just keep an eye out and you should be able to find one. It may take a few days.
