rear window

i bought a gmc jimmy not to long ago and the back window doesn't work. the interior stinks to high heaven because the previous owner left the top off for months at a time i have already ordered new carpet. i have 2 questions first is back to the window the reason i think it dont work is water got down in it when the top was off i've got a new motor for it but can't put it because in can't take the glass out is there a simple trick i am missing? also will the seats out of a 96 tahoe 2-door fit

I dont know if its the correct way to do it, but when I took the motor out of my 82, I just unhooked the drive cable and used a drill to run the window out. Then I could get to the motor.
