The rear wiper on my 99 Yukon has become basically useless, it doesn't wipe most of the glass, as in it "floats" over the glass and doesn't do a thing. I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge that could help me figure out what is wrong. I'm thinking that a bolt or something is coming loose and making it not work. Thanks in advance guys!:thumb:

The pivot on the wiper arm is probably rusted up. Remove the wiper arm and try to clean the pivot with some penetrant and grease to get it to move. Sometimes it's easier just to go buy a new wiper if you can't get it to move.

That's exactly what happened:doah: I tried to free it up and no luck.:( Oh well.

Nevermind! At $47 for a replacement arm, I decided to just live with it, then remembered I have the good fortune of a million dollar auto lab at the school, so I figured out a way to fix it. Lots of intense industrial parts cleaner solution and a stiff wire brush then silicon grease and it's all good.

Good info! I have the same vehicle and found that not everybody carries a 14" replacement when you need a new one.
