Ok so the junkyard i got some spider gears from said they were out a a gm 10 bolt from 88 blazer, mines a 89, only difference i know of is the 28 spline to my 30 spline. the gears are a tad big in diameter and the teeth dont match at all so they wont go in, this rearend is getting welded either way so perfect fit was not important. anybody ever weld anything else inplace of the spiders because of a lack of parts?? might have correct ones later but just in case.....ANY IDEAS YOU GUYS???

Um, you do know that if you weld anything to the axle shafts that you're probably never getting them out ever again right?

And of course they wouldn't be centered which can mess up wheel bearings and brakes, along with making the shafts easier to break.

No i wouldnt be welding anything to or near shafts, i just wondering if anyone has made "square" blocks with holes for carrier pin to put in place of spiders, a long time ago they sold a kit similar to that. just looking to put something solid, steel, in place because its not like it needs to rotate anyways. pin will be in place obviously since it a c-clip axle

Most people weld the side gears and spider gears together (lincoln locked). Doing this in a 10 bolt axle means that you can NEVER remove those gears again so going back to an open diff is impossible.

Look on Ebay for Mini Spool. Replaces the spider gears in an open carrier. Cheaper than a Lockrite or Powertrax but provides no differential action, which it sounds like you're OK with cuase you were gonna weld it anyways.
