so can this been done? heard of it never did it. i have 2 small dents in my rear drive shaft

thanks

Yea you can use some straight viscosity oil if you use multi grade the shaft will distort when driving.:D:D:confused::confused:

j/k never heard this one

Dents = time for a re-tube. As soon as the tube is dented it has lost most of it's strength and balance is the least of your worries IMO.

Rene is probably right on this one.

What is the tubing diameter and thickness?

As for balancing a shaft with oil, it works well. Scott (mrk5) made his own rear shaft and balanced it with mercury, its smooth as can be.

Really? Yikes, don't brake that shaft near a stream. :yikes:

I'm guessing it must be a pretty burly shaft though.

I guess you can learn something every day.
I have been around mechanics all my life and never heard of doing this, I have all ways re tubed it when it's dented.
I will have to say if someone learns 1 thing here a day it's worth 25 bucks to be a member on this great site!!!! join up to day!!!:D

Its dynamic balancing just like putting airsoft BB's or equal in your tires.
