Anyone do this?? What all does it require and is it difficult. I'm pretty sure the parts in the one i got from my boss are pretty new but i left it outside for a while and it's sorta froze up now.

Do you need special tools? Just kinda wonderin cause before i put it in my truck i'd like to now it's all good

Thanks guys

Pop the top off and take a look. My suspicion is that you just can't get enough torque on the input/output shafts to break it free.

Even outside it really shouldn't hurt the thing, input/output shafts and their bearings are all that are exposed, and as large as the bearings are, a little rust isn't going to kill them. At least I wouldn't expect it to.

ok another question. The housing on both ends of the shaft are broke... not the shaft itself. i'm talkin about the pieces that bolt on over the shaft and bolt to the tranny. Is there any place that sells these??

I'd take pics to show you what i'm talkin about but it's dark

You talking about the aluminum (I think, been awhile since I looked) bearing retainers?

Like this?
Not from a 465....this was when I rebuilt a NP435.

Yeah just like what you guys are talkin about. the ears that are around the shaft are broke off. Something about the person that owned it before my boss had to use them and put those back in their place
