So when I went to school we really sped threw the transfer case and manual trans section of the Transfercase, Manual trans, and Differential class. Hell the only thing I really picked up was reassurance that I knew how to do a rear...

That being said when I pick up an NV3500 (Have a line on one a couple hours away and two members willing to ship). I plan on rebuilding the bitch.

I was gonna crack it open and do a full over haul on it including syncros. I've been inside a 5 speed before (insert beavis laugh here) but was just wondering what it takes special tools wise. I know I'll need a press for new bearings but what else?

I'll probably order or download a good manual before I dive into it.

The NV3500 is a real pain in the butt to take apart... I think there are 5 special tools required to take it apart without breaking anything or without doing a bunch of goofing around.

That said, if you get creative it can be done without!

Any idea what tools? I guess I definitely better order a manual then.
