Hey, new here, but I'm planning on rebuild a 350. Its got a one piece rearmain seal. But my question is, does it matter what year it is? Are all the build kits just determined my the rear main?

Ya that is how I understand it. But to be sure ge the casting number off the block and look it up for the year/years it was used and buy for thoes years for all your parts:D

Good Luck and Welcome:xmas:

One piece rear main, check to see if its setup for a roller cam. MOST come pretty much ready to bolt that stuff in, and it's a cheap way to go if you want to make a bit more power.

Just something to consider if you haven't got cam stuff yet.

Are you just gonna put in new gaskets?
Or do you plan to put in bearings, rings, pistons, rods, oil pump, and gaskets?

If its gonna be more than just new gaskets I would suggest getting the minimum of machine work done first. Just ask the machine shop what you got and what you need. They will be able to steer you in the right direction. You will end up with a better motor. Ask me how I know.
