I was making my first attempt at rebuilding one of the quadrajets. I was actually going along fine but then I went to take out the idle rods/screws? and one snapped off. This carb is off a boat that's been sitting for years and everything was a little corroded. Should I be able to get a new screw from the autoparts?

Yeah you should be able to find one at a hardware store, or go buy a cheap Q-jet from the junkyard and use it for parts.

Are these the idle mixture screws? I would think you could get them at a junk yard anywhere, the made gazillions of em. Just check the needle end to make sure its not bent or has a groove in it where it has been forced into the seat.

Did you get the old ones out?

If its for the metering rods, I think it should be a common machine screw with a countersunk seat.
