Rebuilding kingpins!!!

The lower cap on the king pin was frozen stuck.So I got a chisel and banged it down from the top till it popped out.My question is I dented the top part of of the bottom cap.The very top not where the bearing sits just the top flat part now will that affect anything. Thanks

It shouldn't, as long as the lower cap is not bent, and will seat flush, so it will seal in the grease, and keep out the dirt.
