Been trying to find some of the interior parts for the K5 Project.
The side panels in the rear seem to be elusive. Called around today and found ABS Plastic sheets for about $80 for a 4x8 foot sheet.
Great stuff thats easy to cut and work with. Very durable and will not warp or get all nasty if it gets damp.
I can simply glue on the matching vinyl material to make these panels match the interior of the truck
Currently the truck is a sort of brown inside with the light tan/yellow upholstery.
My new doors (with the electric mirrors from a 91 Burb) are a nice blue.
Sooooooooo will redo the seats with new covers to match the door panels. Black carpet or maybe use the complete rubbwer floor mats that cover the entire floor.
So far I have the 85 body to go on the 84 diesel chassis, a front clip from a 90 Burb, doors from a 91 Burb.
The seats and such are still the 85 style so I dont want to have to redrill the floor, will keep the early style seats.
Just a sweet project so far.
I have the last design GMC grill for the truck too and the tailgate has the GMC Logo too.
Using the late style side trim to match the exisiting trim on the doors.
Once together, I want to paint the exterior that Jeep "Sunburst Orange"
Should look good me thinks.
