Anybody get a rebuit Box from Autozone or some other parts house? Is it worth a darn? Thinking of just swapping out my 4WD box (core) for a 2WD box. Figured the dude behind the counter wouldn't know the difference and a reman is about $150 with a core. Or would you just go to the Junkyard, pull one and hope that it's tight?

i was talking to stephen from ord and he said find a steering box from the junkyard with no slop because the remanufactured ones from places like autozone are just the leftover ones that manufacturers like agr didnt want. i couldnt afford an agr one so junkyard it was, got one of an 87 1 ton and im happy with mine

Junkyard, then swap sector shafts.

That was the plan but with 190k on the factory box it's starting to get a little slop. Thought I might be able to get one a little tighter than what I have.
