How much should I look to spend? My usaual tranny guy said it could cost close to $2600 for a rebulid from him. I trust his work, but $2600 is hard to swallow right now. I noticed a couple of companys on ebay advertising 4L80E's for under $1K. Anyone ever buy one of these?

Jasper's about $2400 for a 4L80E for a '91 V2500 'Burb w/a 350 3yr/36000 mi warranty. That's with upgraded harnas and better internals.

i would shop around that seams a little high, if you are pretty good at taking things apart and putting them back together you should buy a manaul and do it your self
