rebuilt motor.. no oil pressure **found**

Man, that sucks !! been there done that. Two things to remember, I'ts cool that the engine is o.k. and you will never forget this. you will check every possible simple, easy thing before tearing into the big stuff.

got the motor in and fired up, 35 psi and it dropped down to 20psi at 2000 warm at idle it was at like 5 psi. but some how we created a noise, sounded almost like a rod, but too fast and too high pitched. the valve covers tapped while running, so i pulled it off and the rockers were hitting inside the cover, it is posible to put them on backwards:doah:
flipped them around and little change, we pulled the belt off and nothing, then unbolted torque converter and nothing. then we started it up again and i touched the oil pan and felt something stronger than the valve covers. climbed under and put my hand onit and cranked it over and the crank is pushing the oil pan down like 1/4" under #3 #4. so the motor is coming out AGAIN to see what we did wrong.

we may throw another crank in it to tighten it up, but we lost half of the rear main bearing to the crank. so if we do that, we need to get main bearings. or we may run 30wt oil in it, need to look at the finances.

after this im not doing another v8 swap in a 4wd s10 for a long time, if ever:mad:
