thinking about tires...im gonna get a set of 42 inch tsls...now the question is should i find a set of h1s and re-center or to take a set of 16 inch 8 lug wheels (i can get cheap) and get a beadlock kit...a h1 is a double beadlock right??that would be the huge advantage over a kit...although i think the kit looks better...whats you opinion??

H-1's are a double beadlock. They are also 16.5". That would be the only difference. Anything beyond that is purely cosmetic.

I run stock H-1's w/ Kert's rock ring. I bought 5 wheels & I have less than $450 in them after having them powder coated.

You getting the tsl's used? If you're buying new, I'd get the Iroks. Or better yet, buy 4 new Irocks and I'll trade you my TSL's.:wink1:

I would do 16's remember JMO but with the h1's I just sold a set I had for 200 bucks, the cheapest place around here to recenter them was 150 a wheel and most places didn't even want to mess with them and they are 16.5's after these tires I have wear out I will never get 16'5's again I am not to sure about h1's but on my wheels and other peoples I have seen the tire sits on the bead weird its like it not all the way on but it is

and wow I thought I would never see some one say Iroks over TSL's need to start a different poll hmmmmm

I run recentered H1's.

Have you ever mounted 4 beadlocks with 32 bolt locks? Thats 128 bolts that all need to be tightend and torqued. Do it once and you'll swear against doing it again. Throw in a spare and thats 160 bolts not counting lug nuts. You also have a good amount of welding time into welding the rings on all the rims (air tight welds of course). Mounting 8 bolt h1's w/ 42's is work enough. Much easier to make a recenterd H1 with press in centers than welding up an entire beadlock flange.

my 16" wheels were $100 a piece, beadlock rings were $190 from ruffstuff(i had won a $100 gift certificate so they cost me $90) and all the hardware was $80. so total cost was $670 ($570 for me). They do take awhile to weld up, but take your time and they should be air-tight. Mine have been at 25psi for two weeks now, no leaks.

For that price you can buy completely built/ recentered H1's with PVC inserts from USA6x6, but dealing with that place is another story.

h1's are good for the double beadlock, but with the lack of availability of 16.5 tires lately, how long before there are no 16.5 tires?

weld on beadlock kits are ok but only lock one dead.

another option i will throw out here are the staun internal beadlocks. they are double beadlocks and less of an issue with balancing. this is what i am going to run, and ill add a rock ring to the wheels.

on the usa6x6 i only know one person around here who has bought anyhting from them and he didnt have a single problem. maybe he ordered on a good day, not sure.
