...quality, low-buck in line electric fuel pump for carb application, please!

As always, Thanks in advance!:bow::pimp:

My Bride says if I get the 'burb up we can donate her ZJ!!!

Woo hoo!

I know it's not the cheapest, but prolly the best for the $$

Have used these carter pumps and always liked them for carb applications. the best thing is they dont need a regulator

If you feel like buying local NAPA carries them for around $95

Thanks, that will do perfectly. :waytogo:

edit: did some searching, vatozone has them too...

Why aren't you going to use the stock pump?

I have a crate motor without the mechanical pump buss in the block...It was destined for my ex's 'burb...

Napa had a low dollar model for carb set ups for $40 or so a few years ago. I think it only did max 6 psi. There was a smaller one that did 4 psi too. Cause I bought the small one first, then bought the other. I still use the small one to drain fuel tanks so I can drop them. I'll get more info tomorrow.

I've used the carter elec. fuel pump with some success. It's worth a go. Check the warranty and let 'er buck.

..I had a small in line Carter on my Jeep back in the 80's...I'll pick one up payday, get some of my boys over, pull the clip, swap in the new motor, tranny & T.C.

We have a newly married couple at church with a 11 month old. Both of their vehicles are dying. My Bride & I want to donate her well worn but reliable Grand Cherokee to them. My Bride had it donated to her when she needed a vehicle, and we like paying it forward.

When I get my sub up & running I'll DD it & my Bride can use my Sierra as needed.

win/win for us, and for the Newlyweds! We've been babysitting the little guy for about a year now...we almost adopted him when they were having problems...

I got a bosch electric one on my Beaumont with a 383, think its around 6 psi. have yet to hook a pressure gauge up to it though. Its next on the list.

Buddy runs the same pump on a healthy carb'd TBI 350. Works great for him as well.

I would not recommend any carter in tank pump or pump module. For some reason the the factory replacements haven't been holding up.

But these after market in line units have been decent. I don't want to way they last for ever because the second I do yours will go bad. But if I had to buy one it would he that unit.

I dug it out, thought I had it at the shop, but it was at home in the garage. It is a Facet (Purolator) inline electric fuel pump. The model that I bought first is efp-3 or part number 60104 it pumps 1.5 to 4 psi. I paid 25 bucks for it. The neatest thing is that it is made in the USA! I then stepped up to the 4.5 - 6 psi pump that was 32 or 33 bucks and it has been on the dodge since I removed the tbi unit and slapped a carb on it 3 years ago. No problems starting at all. I did a search on ebay of the pump and found this http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=facet+electric+fuel+pump So they are still out there. I'm sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner, but life happened!

I picked my up at the Napa down the street, I checked on the website and it didn't list it, but I also called the store and they still carry them. The carry them because they are so proud that they are made in the USA. BTW, I agree with the pay it forward, I try any time I can.

i have a holley red pump on mine, and I am not too impressed... it was on there when i bought it, and thats the only reason. it is loud and loses prime quite often off road. and then i get to drink gasoline...mmmm gasoline.

I have had the Facet-Puralotor metal 'cube solid state' style pumps on two of my (one 350, one 454) vehicles for 23yrs, and still pumping! I bought one spare for each vehicle and the spare pumps have been sitting in the glove box for over 20yrs. Small and easy to mount, run quiet.

The 'posi-flow' pump is a newer style , with a composite injection molded housing, vs the old school metal cube style housing. Both styles pumps are U.S. made, and go from $40-60. I've gotten mine at local auto places. JC Whitney also carries them. My friends also buy these, and no one has had any problems. I'm getting another one soon for a newly acquired carbed Burb.

thanks all, lots of good ideas here.:waytogo:
