My 1991 Suburban needs a new Blue dashpad. Who makes one that firs and is of high quality?

I put a hard plastic cover from Coverlay Manufacturing on mine, it glued on to the original dash pad. It’s not perfect, there are some edges where the original shows by about 1/8”-1/4” at the door opening ends (cant see it when the door is closed) and the underside of the edge above the glove box.

Like I said it’s not perfect but it fits good and only cost me $150 (vs $300+ for a poor fitting reproduction)

Surprisingly the coverlay actually looks great if you’re on a budget or don’t need the exact stock look I actually prefer the hard plastic. Looks more modern and it’s really durable and holds up to the sun. 4CE4CB91-4692-469E-BD84-E8516D4BAD69.png

I first chose Cheyenne pickup but it was too floppy and not oem shaped enough for me. Dashes direct brand is very not bad and I think the closest to oem available.
Still oem is the best and if able to be covered, the way to go.

Both of those look good, I’ll see if the Cheyenne has an eta of when they will be back in stock.

GM made the best fitting dash pad. You can have your original rebuilt like new at a quality upholstery shop like Corbin Custom Upholstery.

Idea on pricing for that? They look great. I’ve got a LMC one that was $300 a few years ago, fits good except around the gauge bezel right in the DS corner that I see all the time

Comparable to the aftermarket dash but a little more when you add in shipping both ways.

The aftermarket dash does not fit well , it is very flimsy took three attempts to get one shipped to me that wasn’t destroyed in shipping. Would get a cover or have a original redone.

I used Dashes Direct. Seems good quality. Lotsa trimming, shaving, but I it fits well after a patient bit of work. In hindsight, I would look into a rebuild of my original for cost comparison.

I had a dash redone by just dashes on another project. The dash pad is not real robust and cost about $1325.

I have the cheyenne one on my 89. Fit is what I'd describe as "OK". There is a molded in boss on the bottom of the pad (pass side) that doesn't fit all the way into the metal dash frame I trimmed up a bit but it is still kinda wavy as a result because it doesn't fit all the way down flush. In the end I don't care a whole lot cuz this isn't a "its fer lookin at" truck.

if I had to do it all over again I'd probably just use the cover.

I'm going to use a CoverLay on mine.
Going to use a heat gun to remove the old cracked vinyl first. Seen some really good results that way.

I saw a video wear a guy removes the original vinyl from the dash using a heat gun.
Then installs a Coverlay over the bare foam.
Looks really good imo. That's the route I'm going. I'll see if I can locate it.

My vinyl is very thin and peeling off and I’m used to the big thick cracks that raise up 1”. It should be easier to get the rest off.
