i broke my strap tonight when my buddy was pulling out some guy but it was on its way out so i dont care. but where is a good site to get them. i just checked jcwhitney and i dont no if the prices went up but its $139 for a 60k test strap. thats seems a little steep to me. im looking for the typical stretch and snatch ones, no fire hoses:rolleyes: thanks!

stay away from really big straps. i have a 65,000 i think it is and it sucks. besides from it being really heavy and a pain to get into most small and medium sized shackles and hooks its basically like using a chain. theres no bungee to it at all. its 3/4inch thick and 6inches wide. i tried to trade it a few years ago for a 25,000lb strap with no luck

I had one like abig84 has and I liked it, yeah it is a bit big. Mine had some stretch to it though, that thing finally rotted from being in the mud and out in the weather in the back of my truck before it broke, as long as it was in good shape I never worried about breaking it. I actually broke receiver hitches before the strap broke.

The strap I use is made by Liftex slings it is 2 in wide by 30 ft long and rated for 36,000 lbs and paid around $75. The guy told me if I break it he will replace it free. Just don't cut it. I ended up cutting my first one on my friends bumper. The new one I have used to pull a dual rear wheel tractor out of the medium of the freeway during a snowstorm back in Ohio, with my K30 with 44s and locked 513s.

alright, thanks for the heads up. im probably gonna go for a 50k or 40k. just so its not a pain to drag around and dry out.

yessir ive been using it for over a year now and pulled out countless stuck ass trucks with it and it has never gave me a lick of trouble

There was someone selling military straps here a little while back. I purchased one and am happy with it. Good price too!

They sell recovery straps at "farm and home" or "Tractor supply company" if you have one of those around. My buddy picked up a 120,000# Recovery strap there (TSC)and we used it to yank a ford out of a pond with a bulldozer. He was buried to his frame in pond mud with 36" tires.
