Are they a smoother running engine than a 4BT? I've always heard 4BTs vibrate terribly. I've not driven a pickup with one just loud ass FedEx trucks and such. I like that its different. Cummins engines are nice but everyone swaps one of them in.

I'm in the same boat...usually my front or rear casters fall off the edge of the plywood at least once during the swap to keep it spicy.Challenging at times. Plywood helps make the engine hoist roll
I am very familiar with the concept. That's where I am at currently, I don't take vacations and in it's current configuration it's not very convenient to stop for coffee on the way to the lumber yard for building material or whatever the mission is.
Challenging at times. Plywood helps make the engine hoist roll, but doesn't do much when Lake Chevrolet floods.

A trip with similar waypoints to the pic. bellow is on my bucket list, I need to do it before I can't. RTT would do that just fine.

It's about the size of the chalet if not a little wider. That’s were the project paralysis starts, unless it’s modular it gets tight quick and if going modular, why not lose the air drag tax and make it a pop top.
Pics. I’ve saved of what others have done.

They also look good if you strip it down to bare metal.Tried to make the dash look less bad with some short haired glass.

And out comes the prybar to get it back on the plywood.I'm in the same boat...usually my front or rear casters fall off the edge of the plywood at least once during the swap to keep it spicy. ...

I have a buddy that works at Diamondback so I'm planning to get one of their aluminum covers to keep my totes of stuff dry and secure in the bed, then add a rack with the RTT...

The chalet worked really well, though cozy for 2 adults and 2 kids. I have a 3rd now and my oldest is 19 so I'm building something bigger on a crew cab using an empty chalet shell
