regearing 14bff/d60f

as title suggests, i have a d60f/14bff open w/3.73's... i want to regear and i'm going as low as possible, just because, so, will i need to change carriers to go 5.38's?
i know i want a detroit in the rear, but i'm not sure which type or what brand locker in the front, will a detroit up front be ok?
what all i need? i know r&p for both axels and detroit for both, other than that what else will i need?

I had 4.10's which use the same carrier and went 5.38's. Just buy thick 5.38 gears for the rear and a drop in detroit (assuming the rear is open) in the stock open carrier. The front detroit is the new carrier with dana 60 axles.

I currently have a detroit in the front 60 and have been happy with it, I run 5.13s and now wishing i ran 5.38s.

The carrier you have is what you need for the 5.38. To my knowledge, they only offer 1 style of 5.38.
