remedy for fading seats

Anyone got one. Picked up some seats today, black cloth. There`s a good amount of sun fading on them, leaving purpleish patches. Anything I can do to repair this, or will I be better of reupholstering them, or throwing on some covers?

Covers if you don't want to spend much of anything. Otherwise re-upholstery doesn't cost that much. Anything else (like dye) may eventually come off on your clothes.

15 years too late but they make fabric dye in a rattle can now dries completely, does not stain your clothes, and dries soft...did my black seats that way
