"Remote" air compressor

Well I dug out a 22 gallon air compressor I bought from my neighbor when he moved. I had totally forgotten about it. He said it was brand new, but he never used it. It works great!

I have no room in the garage to put it, but I do have a small tool shed on the back porch. Would it cause me problems to mount it in the shed and run an air line under the eaves of the house to my garage? It'd be between a 100-150 foot run then attached to a 50 foot retractable hose reel on the garage ceiling. I was going to put an air/water separator between the long run and the hose reel.

House faces East/West and the line would run on the East and South walls if that matters.

Good idea? Opinions/advice? Thanks

Should be fine, you appreciate not having to hear it.

Then wire up a remote switch to the garage so you don't have to walk back and forth to turn it on

I don't see any problem other than it may take longer to fill up with all the extra line.

Extra line is just extra capacity. Make sure you run a shut off valve when is comes into the shop.

the longer line will give a pressure drop over the length .

to make it work good you need a ballest tank feed by the line .

my buddy has a 60gal in his basement and run a line out to the shop around 100ft away . it was o.k. for years . but he complained about crappy performance when painting .

I found him a 30gal small tank from the local sale sheet ad's . he installed it in the shop and feeds it with the line from the basement . all the tools feed off it . he said he should have done this years ago . its night and day difference .

Clearly you don't listen to tinfoil hat shows like I do. I mostly do it for entertainment value. I actually do a lot through Amazon and have a prime membership. I was being sarcastic.

I kind of figured, but I most have some sort of thought process behind it. and no I don't get into those types of shows to much.

Thanks for the input and advice. I figured it would be OK, but wanted to check. I'll need to measure this week to see what the exact dimensions are then start buying the line and other equipment.

Got it all put together yesterday and today. Works great and still has plenty of pressure. When I'm working on the Suburban next I'll move it enough to hang the rest of the air line.
