I had a set of military jumper cables that I converted for use on my K5. No more popping the hood. The set up is extremely heavy duty!

the only problem i see with that is the fact that if your burried in a bank of past your bumper in mud trying to winch and your battery dies that mod is basically useless.you can still jump off your battery so thats good.looks good though.look at this video my battery died and that setup would have done me no good

Point well taken. I thought of putting it on the right front quarter panel, but the recepacle would have been vulnerable to trees. It is fairly well protected where it is--even from underneath. Good video. I like the radioactive sign on the front diff cover of your truck--very cool. I hope you don't mind, I'm going to do the same to my truck.

anyone know where to buy receptacles like that?

I found a better link and edited my last post.. Saturn surplus has them for $48

Some of the guys that part out CUCVs might be able to get you one cheaper

I bought mine from a fellow steel soldier. For $50, I got the cables, pin, hardware, and insulators. He shipped for no additional charge. PM me if you want his info.

Looks good, I have the jumper cable setup from a police car, wires up the battery and then has a plastic pin type connector in which the jumper cabled plug into on the front bumper.. will post pics once it's in (a long time from now haa)
