I have a 89 blazer and I was wondering if anyone knows of a better way to have removable doors besides changing the door pins. Do they make hinges that make it easier to take the doors off?

Not really. I leave the hinges on the cab and pull the door. It’s not my favorite

Diy4x and ORD both make tube doors, but there’s no real lift off option like a heep

I messed around with mine for awhile and finally just replaced the hinge pins. Cut the old pins out and found bolts that were the right size, tapered the ends, drilled out a small hole for a clip. Biggest issue with the doors is they are so heavy. I can remove and install mine by myself but also have it setup where the door can be rested on the rocker panel.......I have the rockers cut up high and replaced with 3"x3" tube and then the bottom of the doors are cut up higher and flat. Sit the door up on the rocker and then I can manuever it enough to get the hinges lined up and drop in the pins. With that said I don't think I've had the doors installed for years now since getting a shop where I can store it inside. We have cold weather but don't go out much in the winter plus I ride SxSs all the time with no cab so not much different....the K5 is strictly off-road and gets trailered so not like I'm driving down the highway at 60 mph in the winter during a trailride.

I run half doors in the summer. Keeps stuff from rolling out and makes a nice arm rest.
