Hello all. New to this sort of thing, so please excuse me if some of these questions are rather noobish.

Recently came into a 85 Suburban with 39" tires. It has a 6" suspension lift and a 4" body lift. I am going to go down to either 33" or 35" tires and want to get rid of some of the lift. Am I better off getting rid of the body lift, the suspension lift, or some of both?

Myself and a friend will be doing this at his garage. How much time would either one take? Is one more difficult than the other? More expensive than the other?

This will only be used for some very light off-roading and hunting. No serious off-roading (probably :D).

Thanks!

definately got rid of the body lift. i cant beleive how cheap some of these people are that they will put peoples lives at risk with a 4" or even taller body lift.

as to how long it will take, that all depends on what equipment you have, any problems you run into, and how much beer you drink while doing it :D

Get rid of the body lift. I did and i'm very happy with the turnout. It was on my pickup and done in the driveway in less than two hours. You just have to buy new bolts and nuts. With the 6in springs, you'd be able to fit 35's and still have room to flex.

good by 4" body lift and hello 35" tires and 6" lift.

6" lift on the longer wheel base trucks like yours is a good combo.

i had 6" lift on my old 1ton and it worked good.

Thanks for the advice guys! That's kind of what I suspected. I am going to buy a new body mount kit and my friend and are going to remove the 4 inch body lift over the holiday.
