I am having a issue with the ac compressor the bearings are going I think is it ok to remove the belt and drive it? I have a 88 Jimmy thanks guys. I can remove the ac and still have heat right?

yes you will have heat.

but there is a problem. if you have only 1 belt then you need to remove the a/c comp and install a idler pully kit in its place. there was not a option to bypass by simply installing a shorter belt.

if you have a reg belt system then it should be fine to remove it.

pic added to show bypass pully on single belt system.
