This C10 has some crusty tint I’d like to remove.
Anyone have some tips to get this stuff off?

The first layer came off just by pulling now, it appears the adhesive is still on.

Hair dryer does a decent job of helping the glue come with the tint. Then mineral spirits or even brake clean on a rag will usually take the rest of the adhesive off

I was told by a window tinter back when I was doing Body work to use Simple Green. It works best if the windows are out but I’ve done it both ways. Spray the tint with simple green then lay clear plastic over it. Give it about 20 minutes and you can pull it off in one piece adhesive and all. Again works best if you can put it in the sun.

yes tint shops spray ammonia/chemicals, put plastic over it, then peel. I learned that after ripping tint off a rear window with defroster lines.

To the original poster, you already ripped the plastic off and you're stuck with sticky glue, you just need chemicals and a razorblade.

I have brake clean, goo gone and a hair dryer here already. I’ll try that before buying more stuff.

I can't remember now if I was using the brake clean when I did mine last or not.
I know the mineral spirits worked super, but can't seem to remember how the brake clean did now....

I use to tint windows a LONG time ago and would have to re-do some windows that had old tint. My go to was Windex and a new razor blade with handle to remove. The goo gone might help a little more. I'd be worried about brake cleaner on interior parts and door panel. If its over rear defroster lines, then goo gone and green scrub pad.

I sprayed brake cleaner on a rag, then used the rag.
But mine were also out on a table.
