I did the quick release door hinge trick, now I don't have mirror when I have the doors off. This makes my truck illegal to drive on the road. Has anyone came up with a good sollution to this. Any pictures or your custom mirror mounts. I'd like to do away with the door mirrors all together. Kinda like the jeep windshield mounted mirrors.

I used the top rear bolt to the front quarters on my '74 ... this isn't a great pic, but it's all I have :)

The mirrors are cheapo aftermarket ones. IIRC, I made one angle bracket by bending a piece of flat stock to a right angle, and drilling it ... not really complicated. :)

I was hoping to find some ideas for a mirror relocation. I want to take the one off the door completly and have one mounted somewhere to take the place of the door mirrors.

Good Idea though, thanks!

I bolted the same kinda elephant ear mirror to the top hole of the top hinge. Works out pretty well. I'd show ya a pic but I'll be damned if I can find one.

isnt that exactly what he showed you a pic of?

I just bolted mine to the front fenders. same height position. They are fine with the doors off, but the passenger side isn't fully visable when the door is on!
