If I remove the carrier as a "unit", do I have to re setup the gears? I am hopeing to get the 14bolt welded.

What about the front? No welding, I just need to clean out the center section well.

On a 14FF just need to reset the BL, for the front just reinstall with the shims in the original loactions (If a 10 bolt), for a D60 front the shims are under the pressed on carrier bearings so you can't mess them up.

If you count the number revolutions you back off the side bearing adjusters and put them back the exact same amount, you should be all set.

Check the backlash before you start, write the number down, and just double-check it when you put everything back together.

when i put my locker in, i just put everything back the same way i took it out, same number of turns on the bolts, etc, no problems.
