Ok, my tranny went out this morning on my way home from work. Everyone that I have talked to has said that It would cost up to $400 less for me to pull it. I plan to start on this Saturday morning after work. Is there anything I should be concerned with or any tips? BTW, I know I am supposed to flush my tranny cooler.

basicly the same as any other tranny. 2 big things tho.

1 = the tranny cooler line clips. slide back the plastic cover on the ends at tranny fitting. then with little pick tool pop out the clip but dont loose it. its shaped like a ( c ) and its wire not like a regulare ( c ) clip. then the line just pops out.

2 = the big wire plug on the side of the tranny. find the 2 serated sections on the plug and squeze them together and wiggle the plug out. in the closed position its oval. when you squeze it it turns round and will relese from the plug lock tabs.

other than that it is 1 heavy monster.

It's heavy. Have a tranny jack available.

John

X2, torque converter alone weighs almost as much as some other transmissions...

I found a guy that will do it for $1000. I have never used him before but he his family has been doing buisness with my dad for many years. Since I cannot trust the last guy who did my trannys, I need to find someone else I can trust. He will give me a 6 month unlimited milage warrenty as well.

I don't have a tranny jack, just a couple floor jacks:doah:

you better strap it to something, and have someone else there to help, if nothing more than to call a paramedic, cause if it falls on you youll probably die, those are HEAVY!

if you were closer, I'd let you borrow my tranny to floor jack adapter. :(

yeah I got to get one of those.

I got it out tho. It was acting stubborn till I realized I forgot a bell housing bolt :doah:. I did have a little help when I was ready to lower it. Now If I can just get that 700 sold, I will be set.
