Hey,

I picked up this '83 Fullsize Blazer for cheap recently. I am having trouble getting it running. I have found that there is no spark. I have also discovered that there is some type of alarm installed on it. I am trying to make sure that the alarm isn't causing me to lose spark. I have no remotes to disable the alarm, so I was curious as to how easy it is to remove the alarm. It looks like a really basic one. Are there usually just a few wires to cut and re-crimp back to original location? I know this is a long shot, but thanks for the help.

Just bypass it, run a wire from the pos side of batt to dist when trying to start. That'll tell you if alarm is cousing you a problem. I hate to dink with wireing if I don't have to. If it'll start then, then you can have all the run of tracking down the wires for the alarm.
