Removing blocks

If I remove the blocks on the rear of the blazer and the back squats with original springs, what can I do. I can get new stock front springs but can't find new ones for the rear. I think the 33's will be alright with the truck at stock height because I don't wheel it but give opinions.

I really just want to drop it back to stock height since I don't wheel and it's my daily driver.
 
is the front lifted? you just mentioned removing the blocks, are you removing a complete lift? returning the whole truck to stock height? or just the back end? with just lift springs on the front it would certainly look like it had a major level of squat to it.
 
I would also remove the 2" lift from the front and probably just get new stock springs for front from LMC but they don't sale the rear springs.
 
wayell..... you could get a set of 4in lift springs for the front, and put your current front springs on the back. :rolleyes:
 
so its currently a 2in lift, with a saggy rear end? and youre worried if you remove the blocks the rear will rub or something? if so, the only option i can think of would be to put stock height springs up front, and remove the 2in blocks out back. and put a 1 inch zero rate spring (basically a 1in block) to level out the truck.
 
It dosen't sag now but I just thought it might when I take the blocks out. Most old stock suspension blazers I see around here seem to sag in the rear. I was just wondering what my options are if it is sagging.

If I go with the zero rate, will that help as far as towing my 4wheelers? Trailer and all is only about 3000lbs or less.
 
look in your local phone book for spring shops.

thay will be able to get new springs for front and rear. and ubolts also.

and get a 5 leaf rear set of springs . thay do make up to 7 leaf rear springs.

and zero rates do nothing for the extra capacity you are wanting. as the zame is ( zero rate ) no change to the spring rate.
 
ord can make you a set of springs with whatever specs you want.2 inch lift would be alright to keep with towing.you can just do a new springpack for the rear with a extra leaf and overload.33s may rub if you dont cut the fenders on turns.with new stock springs it wont be as bad but i got a feeling 33s will rub more than you would want.2 inch is really mild and if you get the new springpack in the rear it should ride better.why do you want to go stock again?
 
I just figure it would be more daily driving friendly with stock suspension. But I might look at getting the rear springs. I can buy just a rear 2" set can't I?
 
with a 2 inch lift,it would still ride basically stock.and you should be able to keep the swaybar attached to ride better(if its still there).you can get rear 2 inch springs made up to whatever specs you want.i have a 5 leaf rear spring witha overload spring and it tows really nice.ive pulled 8 thousand pounds with it and it rode pretty nice.look at procomp springs.thats what i have but 4 inch lift and they ride real nice.flex is alright and as said tow pretty nice also.but ord should be able to get you the same deal with poly bushings and probably a better spring. i believe alcan springs makes the springs for ord.what ride problems are you having?

If you want to go that route you can ditch the block and get a 2.5" shackle flip, better (and cheaper) than getting new lift springs.

If you want to go back to stock, you can remove a leaf out of the front pack. Or you can find someone who is lifting their truck, front springs always get thrown in the trash.
