when removing the body off the frame should i brace the body? or is having the top on enough to keep it from twisting?

I imagine a lot depends on which body style you're working with and how you lift it.

The full top trucks would probably tweek easy without the top or doors. I would think the half toppers would be a lot better because of the roof and "B" pillar strength.

I did a frame swap on my 91 (half top w/ shell on) without any problems. I was lucky enough to be able to use a lift to raise the body so it was supported pretty good during the lift.

I have a 71 so its a full convertible. I wont be using a lift, it will be the old get 5 or 6 buddies routine

I lifted the cab off the frame with a hoist and a floor jack, lifted it just enough to get some big boards underneath then rolled the frame out from underneath it. Theres some pictures in my build thread.

i do want to flip it on its side to blast the underside to bare metal then im thinking of coating both the underside and the frame with eastwoods epoxy primer and 2k cermaic chasis black.

5 or 6 guys would be how I do it, lol. I only need one friend to help with the top. It's not that heavy, just too big for one person, I can't imagine it making much of a difference.

The body is pretty stout. Id remove the front clip and top. Jack it up and roll the frame out from under it. Lot easier on the backs.
