Yeah i was wondering if i cut the dash out... Can i put the serial number on the new dash or do i have to leave a part of it in for the serial number.... Im wanting to put a custom dash in...

They are very special star type rivets hold that thing on there, not generally available. Not a huge problem, The biggest problem would come if you truck is insured, and it gets stolen, lets say you identify it after recovery, but the insurance company may balk because the VIN plate has been scewed with. Check with your states' DMV to see what the rules are, there are legal ways to transfer bodies and vin plates, every state is different. If you can leave that section in, that would probably be the easiest.

beater K20 you might know the rules in Indiana about removing and reinstalling your serial number, what are they if you know them???

When you cut out the dash support, just leave a 2x4" tab of metal behind with the VIN still on it.
