Well its time to do the rocker panels on the k5 and the doors gotta come off. My question is how do I disconnect the wires that run into the cab through the door, I would like to just disconnect them but if I have to cut them I will. This will be my first time doing rocker panels, so far I have replaced the rear floor sections and patched up the front ones as well as replaced the rear cab supports, if any one has any tips on doing the rockers that would be great. Thanks alot

its been awhile since i did mine. you have to unplug them inside the door shell. one on the window motor, one on the door lock acuator. if i remember right, you can raise the window to get access.

cut em and put weatherproof connectors back on. makes life much easier if you decide to ever take off the doors again.

they have weatherprood connectors from the factory.. unplug them and you're done.

The connectors must be up under the dash because there are no visible connectors other than inside the door.

take the dashpad and face off.the connectors are just behind and slightly above the clock.a real PITA to get dis-connected.the pass.side are much easier since they're right behind the glovebox.if you have access to junk rotted doors, cut the wiring, plug it in under the dash again and splice them into your doors with quick connects so if you need to remove the doors again, everything can be unhooked without tearing into the dash.:D

the wires are wrapped in electrical tape then 6 of th wires are on 1 connector and 3 are on another.

i disconnected mine inside the doors on the drivers side... somewhat easier to get to. On the pass side I pulled em from under the dash.
