3M makes an adhesive remover that I've had good luck with. Put some on a rag, hold it against the adhesive to re-moisturize(not sure if thats the right term), then clean off.

Just don't try the heat gun after the remover. Will cause the paint to get soft and warp. (Don't ask me how I know.:doah:)

I always try that first since its laying around

Carb cleaner works but can damage paint ,it may kill the gloss,or start lifting it off if its laquer or plain enamel..

Prep-Sol or enamel reducer may work too..

used naphtha (lighter fluid) back in the day. (80's) when taking factory shit off my bikes...

I had it on my boat, po used duct tape to hold for sale sign on, found a plastic scraper and goo be gone worked best, maybe a credit card

x2 on goo gone. Just spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes. It will soften up the old crusty adhesive and then it will just wipe off.
