How exactly do I do this? Just remove the lines at the oil filter housing and plug them? What size plug/threads are the plugs? The truck is an 85.

I like the idea of the oil cooler but it is in the way of everything and is leaking some too. I am tubing out the nose and it is being a mofo to deal with and I just want this beat up stock POS gone. Later I will add an aftermarket system or rebuild a stock style with some more flexible lines.

You take the adapter off the block , replace it with a normal small block spin on filter adapter , and go :thumb:

I can take one off another block here if you need one .

I would rather just plug the holes to stop the flow to the radiator but will that work?

How hard is it to remove the oil filter adapter and swap a new one on? I am just trying to keep this as simple as possible.

2 bolts hold it on

You cannot just remove the hoses and plug the adapter or you won't get any oil to the engine until the oil filter adapter bypass opens. Once that happens you no longer are filtering the oil and the flow isn't enough anyhow. You need to replace the adapter with the old school style. It is really as easy as removing (2) bolts and replacing the adapter with the non oil cooler adapter with the correct length bolts.

i was gonna post don't just plug the oil passages but that was already said. i'd just replace the adapter plate . shouldn't take but 10 minutes at the most

Cool, that is the info I need to know. My concern was that you couldn't just plug the holes. Now I know that is correct. Thanks
