In removing the fender don't i also have to drill out the spot welds?

What spot welds? I replaced some fenders not too long ago and it was all just nuts 'n bolts.

ya your right i thinks its all nuts and bolts, granted some are hidden but there isnt
any spot welds IIRC

If you lift the hood and look on the top lip there are about 20 spot welds down the lip of the fender.

The whole front end on these chevy's are all bolt on just like cars. The spot welds you see are just holding the outer and inner structure of the fender together. This is all one big piece I think theres like 18 bolts or something like that!

I wish I knew this some time ago. When the front fender go hit I could have removed and pounded it back in shape. Instead I drilled holes in the fender and ran screws in pulling the fender back in shape. It looks good but it has about 6 holes in it now. Oh well.
