I started a thread in the autobody section, but no replies yet, so I figured I'd post here and hit a larger audience. I ran across this product searching on ways to remove the old factory clearcoat and wondered if anyone has any experience with this? Is it formulated to just take the clear off, or would it be time related(where you hit it in a couple of quick passes to leave the basecoat)? I figure at the worst I'll get a buffer and some polishing compound and take it down enough so that i can spray a fresh coat of clear.

thats going to take all the paint off. you need to sand with 2000 grit and reclear probably.

Just for the record, basecoat cannot just be recleared.. it will ALWAYS need at least an overcoat of color before reclearing...
