Finally getting around to installing the Dakota Digital cluster swap. Problem is when I removed the old cluster, I get the key in ignition warning chime. This seems to stem from the voltage gauge being disconnected. Soon as I wire back that gauge, its fine and chime goes away. If remove the black wire to the gauge, the chime goes off again. The warning chime must go through this circuit. I tried the ground the negative side but no luck. There is resistance between the 2 voltage gauge wires so I wonder if maybe I should add a resistor to this? I like the key warning chime since I'm always locking my keys in my other military truck and it doesn't have this feature. This is a 1987 K5 model that I'm swapping clusters on. I tried to search extensively last night. I might call Dakota if I get nowhere on this.
