I'm replacing them with the ARP version because I'm a gluten (glutton) for punishment. Is there some special trick to getting these out? I tried the double nut trick but the nuts just kept spinning. Guess some heat is required?

They should turn out. I’d try the double nut trick again but jam them together tighter.

Gluten … that’s what’s found in bread dough. :haha:
Sorry, couldn’t help it cuz I just used “gluten for punishment” in a bread joke.

Guessing that rust isn’t an issue in TX. Have you tried a good penetrating oil or a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone? I think some use candle wax too.

Ha. You're funny. Had to hammer on the nuts with my impact for 5 minutes to get those off and that's with spraying with acetone//atf for days. That's why I'm wanting to replace them. They've seen some stuff.

Stupid autocorrect haha.

I've tried acetone and atf. It's my favorite penetrant. But 35 years of use and abuse and mud have probably welded the damn things in.

I'd just weld a nut onto stud if they are going to be replaced anyways..
And use an air impact to remove them if possible..
