I'm stripping my cab down for floor repair and am wanting to remove this plasticy rubbery mat thing that was put on the metal at the factory.A heat gun only seems to soften the peeled edge making it harder to get up.Have any of you struggled with this?Any advice?I also want to remove the black silicone type goo where the windshield was.Same problem. Are these just a fight the whole way or what?:confused:Thanks Guys.

That stuff sucks doesn't it? I just struggled and scraped and cut and dug it all out.

if you are repainting then use a soft brass wire wheel on it then 3m makes a good addhesive remover like 14.00 a half gallon

I just used a small propane torch from Home depot with a cheap putty knife. Took maybe a half hour for both sides.

That may be the fastest easiest and possibley smelliest solution. It gets my vote. Doing it without the torch sucked very much.

i used this stuff called kleen stuff adhesive remover.... its in a purple and tan can....i used it to remove durabak bed liner.....just painted it on with a brush and within 10 minutes the stuff just peeled right off with a scrapper... worked great...would strongly recommend it....got it at home depot

x2 on the torch. just heat up 6"x6" section at a time until it looks soft then scrape it off w/a scraper. if you get it the right temp, it comes off the metal pretty cleanly in big globs. mine took about an hour too.
