No. It is statistically impossible to remove an automatic transmission and not spill fluid everywhere. 
Actually, if you run a strap/string over the converter and bellhousing, the converter will stay in place, and they make plugs for the output shaft. (if 2wd)
Keep a bag of kitty litter handy.

Should I unbolt the torque con from the flexplate by taking off the inspection cover then try to stap the TC to the bell housing? I figure there will some leakage, just don't want to spill quarts of it in the driveway.
Yes, that would be the cleanest way to do it. The converter will likely dump at least a quart otherwise.
You can just run a string up over the top of the bellhousing, and under one of the torque converter bolt pads, and it should stay in place.

if you don't have a tranny drain plug (you probley don't), you will need to loosen the tranny pan bolts and drain some fluid. Remove most bolts from one corner then start loosening untill a good amount of fluid is flowing. Once it trickles down, tighten the bolts back down. Less mess, but watch out for the transfer case leakage if applicable.
