has anyone done or know someone who was removed and replaced the 1/4 panels before? i know theres dozens of body bolts along the tailpan, bottom, around the inner wheel house, up towards the front. the spot welds in the door jamb have to be drilled out. it goes up into the b pillar how is that undone? any pics would be helpful.

thats really a project youve got going on there!! do you know if any one else has tackled the 1/4 panel, floor project too?

I can answer any specifac question ya want...

did you feel that the aftermarket panels fit well enough? i have a pair from "veng" and am looking at another pair ABP <auto body panels> i have an original gm floor pan assembly so im not sure how they will line up. i think if i have 2 pair i can see what fits better then sell the other pair.

i think the only think specically i havent figured out is seperateing it from the b pillar?

well, I've said it in here a few times I find ALL the aftermarket stuff to be the same...

They where fine... one of the better aftermarket sheetmetal pieces you'll get... 2 bolt holes where wrong to the tailpan, but generally they fit nice, no issues... steel quality, tho not quite GM, is decent.. unlike aftermarket floorpans...

keep in mind too, I've hung over 100 qrters, so I've seen my share of sheetmetal..

the factory qrters tuck WAY under the upper post on the b.. what I do for them is cut the factory qrter a 1/2" below the seam... then step it, trim the new one to the seam, drill holes and plug weld it to the stepped down lip... seamseal the joint between the qrter and upper post..

over 100 holly $hizel. so for the front floor pans and inner and outer rockers it dosent matter what made china brand? they're all just as thin and easy to blow through?

I used to run a frame machine in a busy collision shop and also spent years in a resto shop.. :haha:

and yup, my experience is all the front panels will be the same crap... one of the reasons I'm going with my full custom floor/slider/tunnel thing..

the a.m back bed stuff isn't too bad (nice that you have GM tho).. and the tailpans are pretty decent.. wwells are decent too...
