I can;t seem to find the last 2 bolts holding the top onto the body on my 1990 K5. How do I get this thing off? The bolts that I cannot find are the last 2 on either side towards the tailgate. I'm sure I am missing something obvious - but what is it!!!???

Take the side panels off and they last tow bolts at the back should be easy to see.

the last two bolts are directly in the corners of the rear where the fat part of the top is.. like others said peel back ur side panel on the inside.

since 3 previous people put almost the exact same post... i will play too

just pull the side off and the bolts are there :D

same as everyone else.

also if the top has never been taken off the seals will prolly be stuck, so jus lift off. u wont be able to slide it after u ahve all teh bolts off cuz there are 2 safety cones that u ahve to lift it off of b4 u can slide. once u have the top off u can use a screw driver and a socket to get those off, it makes life easier.

keep those cones on!!!

it makes life so much easyer when putting the top back on!

agreed - lining it back up will be a breeze...

just a little tip... the trim inside the hardtop on the sides can be bolted back on when the shell is off. my 79 had white scuffs from the top rubbing over the years and it looked cleaner with the trim on it.
